"I tell no one any story but his own." (take 3)

All right, so.

Since Aslan is basically the equivalent of GOD in his world, that means, aside from being practically omnipotent, he is also omniscient - i.e. there is canonical evidence for him knowing not only about what happens in worlds that aren't his own, but also about people (their names, etc) before he even talks to them. For the sake of the game, this will obviously be toned down in terms of what he can/cannot know about in-game events and people, but just so I'm not stepping on any toes, please fill out the following form so I know what he can know about your character!

Name: Character Name | Character Journal
Race: I.e., is your character human or something else? Can he know that?
World Information: Canon Name | Canon Information (a wiki or something like it is fine)

Summarize- What kind of place does your character come from? Is it Earth? Another planet? Have any major, world-shaking events happened recently? What kind of creation/god mythos is there?
Personal Information: A link to the character's application or some other informational source would be great, along with a brief summary of the character's life.
Issues to Be Explored: Since Aslan is very much about counseling those who need it, what, in particular, would you like Aslan to pick up about your character and address? Can be positive or negative.
Religious Affiliation: Is your character devout in some shape or form?
Plot: Is there anything your character is doing in the House that he might know about/be interested in?
Stipulations: Can Aslan mention any of the above information publicly? If so, how much?
Tagging: Are you okay with Aslan tagging your character's posts?

Just as a note: Aslan, as a rule, will never disclose any personal information about your character to others. He isn't the type to intervene either so even if your character is dastardly and evil, he probably won't do anything about it. Free Will, and all that.

Also, regarding fourth-walling: If you think your character would ICly know about Aslan (i.e., he/she has read the books or seen the films), feel free to recognize him! Since he's from the end of Voyage of the Dawn Treader, though, I'd rather people didn't get too much into the details of the later books.

Name: "Nagi"/Chrome Dokuro | [personal profile] cherished_avatar
Race: Human
World Information: KHR | Canon Information The wiki is bad. There's Chrome's app.

Summarize- Chrome comes from an Earth where people take magical assassin babies in stride and fight by using concentrated will power in the form of heatless flames focused by alien rings. It's crack. Total. Crack. Recently the cursed magical assassin babies have been in a massive team-brawl where the main characters are fighting each other to cure one of the babies from the curse that makes them babies. Earlier there was time travel.

Humans are apparently the second sentient species to grow on Earth and two sets of rings (one of which isn't rings any more) and one set of magic pacifiers are necessary to keeping life on that and parallel worlds going. There is no way to make this canon make sense, I'm sorry.

Personal Information: Chrome's app again.

Unwanted child hit by car adopted by mass murderers as an avatar for the one of them in jail joins a collection of Japanese teenagers who are heirs to an Italian Mafia family.

Issues to Be Explored: Chrome has massive self-confidence issues and is struggling to reconcile being "Nagi" with being "Chrome". Also she's got crushes on the above mass murderers.
Religious Affiliation: She's Buhddist-ish.
Plot: She hangs out with someone who is often in Deva form, and also sometimes with one of the Powers: Orion.
Stipulations: Go for it, although she's likely to be very twitchy about being called Nagi.
Tagging: Sure.

Name: Kiziah of Dahnil Clan of the Katzu | [personal profile] kiziah
Race: Her species is Katzu, "Dahnil" is sort of like a race within Katzu, and it's very obvious she's not human; her fangs are almost as big as a lion's.
World Information: Original world | Canon Information Just Ki's journal.

Summarize- On an alternate world three sentient species evolved: humans, the lemur-descended Olia, and the cat-descended Katzu. World history maps up pretty well with real world, just some of the people weren't human. Kiziah is from the early 1800's.

Personal Information: Here.

Kiziah is the third child of her father. She's a young adult by Katzu standards, 59 years old. She's a hunter. She has had several miscarriages, but that's normal for her species.

Issues to Be Explored: Kiziah is almost criminally well-adjusted. Her biggest issue is she's lonely for other Katzu.
Religious Affiliation: She's very vaguely animist but not spiritual at all really.
Plot: Not really! Ki is mostly a support character giving other people backup.
Stipulations: She's fine with it, I'm fine with it.
Tagging: Go for it.

Name: Dr. Simon Lee | [personal profile] fever_blistered_grin
Race: Simon was born human, but in 1942 his soul was ripped in half and replaced by half of a Salamander - a creature born in the heat of the first fire. He calls himself Salamander, but the truth is he's a hybrid creature and very unstable. It, too, is hard to miss.
World Information: Original world |

Summarize- Again it's a world rather like our own, with a hidden subgroup of magical creatures. They are slowly working towards opening themselves up. Religions there are much like religions in the real world.

Personal Information: Application.

Simon was born human to a Hispanic family in the US. He fought in the second world war until captured and used as an experiment in a Nazi camp. Since the end of the war he's been trying very, very hard not to kill everyone and everything. So far so good.

Issues to Be Explored: AH HAH HAH. Learned sociopathy, severe PTSD, isolation issues, anger management, the guy is made of issues.
Religious Affiliation: VERY devoutly Mexican Catholic.
Plot: Not as far as I know although his current exploding of part of Third House may change that.
Stipulations: See that "sociopathy" thing. Simon is a fucking powder keg and hearing things about himself may make him explode.
Tagging: I am perfectly fine with it, however Simon tends to take the ignite that shit option with people/things that claim to be divine.

[personal profile] vipassi 2013-01-28 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
Name: Giotto | [personal profile] passed_torch
Race: Human! Mostly. There was a "demigod" of sorts somewhere back in Giotto's family tree, enough for some subtle inheritance; Giotto doesn't know about that, but Aslan's free to know.
World Information: Katekyo Hitman Reborn | As mentioned by Madb, the wiki is horrifying.

Giotto's from turn of the century Italy, specifically the end of the Italian unification war. It is an alternate Earth, with pretty much the normal framework of history intact. He's closely involved in a few things that get more complicated.

There's this object that was a part of maintaining the health of the timeline/life-cycle of the world where its custodians died out; the last few of them remade it into three sets of seven pieces of jewelry that would divide up the "workload" so that it could be kept by humans. Giotto's little band was chosen to be the custodians of the last of the three sets made, the one that would maintain history and linear time; as such, each of them were bound to their "ring", so that when they died, they would keep the memory of everything that it was involved in from then on, and act as its will/spirit.

He's been a ring for a hundred years before he came to the house.

His timeline point is just after there was an incident of fixing something to prevent events that would've broken the Tri-ni-Sette - the entire group of artifacts - and turned the world into hell on earth.

Creation/god mythos is hard to say; the race that he's descended from that used to keep the proto-Tri-ni-Sette were powerful enough for humans to parse them as "almost gods", and could live ungodly long, but were a mortal race. Other character I play seems to nod towards a Buddhist cosmology, with a cycle of souls in reincarnation, higher-planar creatures people often interpret as gods, and not much specified about an actual "creator".

Personal Information: Here.

In life, Giotto was a leader of a revolutionary/vigilante group, with the creed of protecting the weak and fighting those who would abuse power. Due to a few snarls, a couple mental breakdowns, and some bad decisions, what he built has, after his death, turned into a very powerful Mafia, with an internal schism between the more humane faction trying to keep the worst of humanity in check - the ones following his foundations - and the ones out for power, cultivated by a good friend of his. /see Spade below. He's been a ring for a hundred years, as mentioned, with his basic role being trying to keep its power out of the wrong hands and encouraging things being fixed.

Issues to Be Explored: Giotto's time in the House has, oddly enough, actually whacked him out of some of his guilt complexes and more self-destructive martyr instincts. He still occasionally falls into trying to fix everything or save everyone and spreading himself too thin, and he's currently in the middle of Plot Things, with some clues about how the House works where he's trying to find a way to fix things and get it pulled out of being a pit of misery and suffering that turns people into monsters.

Given the chance, he will treat every single ghost and monster here as a person and take any chance he has to show kindness to them as long as it doesn't put someone else/himself at risk.

Religious Affiliation: He used to be Catholic. He went from Catholic to "foundations but off" after ending up fighting the Vatican. Since his arrival in the House, he still has a lot of the religious foundations and faith in a higher-power God guiding everything, but his actual beliefs can be summed up as "I don't know, I just trust that said Highest Power put me here for a reason".
Plot: ...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA. *sob* Giotto's talked to a couple of the local deities. He's determined to try to fix whatever broke here.
Stipulations: Only thing I can think of is that he's paranoid about some of his dealings since he arrived here, because he knows that some of the powers are outright malicious, and he'd rather they NOT realize that he's working against them or knows as much as he does.
Tagging: THIS GOES FOR ALL OF MINE: I would be massively amused, feel free and I invite it. :3

Name: Rokudou Mukuro | [personal profile] vipassi
Race: Born human. Stayed that way for maybe ten minutes. His family put him through fairly horrifying experiments, and also tried to use him to bring into the mortal realm powers that didn't normally exist there; they kind of succeeded. His "human" state is a living weapon, and he lapses into other "Paths" that are basically his self as other beings.
World Information: Katekyo Hitman Reborn -

The main addendums that're specific to him instead of Giotto? One is that he's carrying another part of the set Giotto's group founded; the spirit that inhabits it is still there, and will either be hanging around talking in the back of Mukuro's head, or inhabiting an owl-like construct. *see Spade below*.

His family's experiments involved killing and reviving him repeatedly; basically he's lived through several other "lives" and brought the memories and bits of personality/power back, with a basis in Buddhist cosmology - he actually has, albeit somewhat fragmented, memories of serving in the Hell Realms, the Realm of Hungry Ghosts, the warzone on Mount Sumaru of the Asura, and living in the lowest/"Pleasure Realm" heaven as a Deva, with bits and pieces of memory of some higher beings.

Personal Information: Here.

His app is 20 pages. That's the information on his current state in Maison.

He was born to a minor mafia family that'd dabbled in some forbidden powers; when the rest of the underworld realized what they were up to, there was basically a dogpile to eradicate them, and they went into hiding, putting their entire younger generation + any other small kids they could get into experiments to make living weapons. His birth "name" was Project 69. Among various other things, including his right eye being replaced with the red implant, he was killed and revived repeatedly, as mentioned above. They ended up succeeding a little too well, and caught something that was mostly the Deva coming out of a revival; Path of Heaven bitty went on a divine judgment rampage, wiping out the adults of the Family, and adopted the only two other surviving children/experiments. He kind of went off-rails unguided missile for a while, with the three of them trying to eradicate the underworld by killing off mafia and other organized crime; after a while they pissed off more than they could fight, and he pulled an all or nothing gamble to possess the heir of one of the more powerful families.

Said heir was Giotto's great-great-great-great-grandson. He got beaten down and ended up in a prison run by a group of undead, but agreed to work with said heir in exchange for protection for his people and his eventual freedom, with Chrome as his link to the outside world. Just before arriving here, he'd finally ended up out of the prison, albeit after a conflict with his predecessor below.

Issues to Be Explored: Mukuro is coming to terms with what he is; a previous event led to all the Paths being cranked up in volume, so he's having to relearn control and get refamiliarized with all the new detail to get things in balance. He's also been coming to terms with his "human" self, the foundation under it all, being a living weapon with a lot of things that aren't really human, and turning that into something positive/making it his own instead of being afraid of it.

Religious Affiliation: He's Zen Buddhist. The demon self served under Enma-Oh, the judge of the underworld, the Asura had served one of the guardian deities, and the Deva studied under Kuan-Yin occasionally, although he wasn't a very good student.
Plot: He's apprenticed to one of the local god-figures, and has basically taken a mission to try to prevent further tragedy.
Stipulations: There's not a lot to avoid, really.

Name: Daemon Spade/Rosario Silvestri | [personal profile] bestamontillado
Race: In life he was human. Now he's a guardian spirit inhabiting a pair of earrings (one of the pair is worn by Chrome, the other by Mukuro), with occasional use of an owl construct.
World Information: Katekyo Hitman Reborn, again. Yes the earrings are one of the set Giotto's group had.

Personal Information: Here.

That is an old app from another game. He's currently spending 2/3 of his time in the earrings as a voice in either Chrome or Mukuro's head, and 1/3 of his time in the owl, which can't be very far from either of them.

Spade was noble-born, from a fairly corrupt family; his powers spiked up when he was young, and were taken as some kind of demonic influence, which got him a lot of abuse. Thanks to this, he didn't learn to control them until he was 13-14. The first person to treat him like a human being was a Duke's daughter that he eventually married, who introduced him to Giotto, above; they joined Giotto's group of revolutionaries. As the war settled down, Giotto was wearing down and starting to break under the pressure himself, and against Spade's warnings, signed a peace treaty with some of the other early Mafia families; the treaty was a trap, they got ambushed, and Elena - Spade's main anchor for stability and then-wife - was killed. Spade snapped hard, blamed Giotto and their ideals, and turned on the others; turned what they'd built into a "proper Mafia" out for power, and killed most of the others including Giotto before he was killed himself. Unlike Giotto, he knew possession techniques, and he used them to body-hop and meddle for the hundred years since his death, causing a ton of trouble. Shortly before arriving here, he tried to hijack Mukuro's body, got caught, beaten over the head literally and metaphorically with his own self-delusions and wrongdoings, and had settled into a puddle of self-loathing in the earrings. Mukuro figured out a few things and decided it was better to try to work on his issues than have something in the House use Spade against them, which's why he's active now.

Issues to Be Explored: He is somewhat aware of his issues but they're a hundred years old and kind of deep-cut and infected. He has HORRIBLE trust issues, of the "if I trust/rely on anyone it will end in losing everything/hurting" variety. He has an old vindictive streak that he's trying to sit on now, and a tendency to act on emotion/impulse and rationalize it afterwards. An NPC here managed to hit the right buttons to at least snap him out of self-loathing and being about as stable as C4 dipped in introglycerin; he's trying to help the people here via his awareness of how to be a manipulative bastard/how destroying people works - "monster on your side" tracing out what the worse things here might do to break people and giving warnings, and occasional attempts at "I speak from lots of bad experience and know why it's bad" advice.

Religious Affiliation: He has issues with the Catholic church thanks to his family. He sort of had his own odd set of beliefs that had more in common with William Blake than anything, and is currently somewhat agnostic.
Plot: He's been nudged into trying to help and make something worthwhile of himself by an NPC.
Stipulations: MAJOR NOTE FOR HIM AND WHICHEVER OF THE TWO KIDS HE'S WITH: As a gift from said NPC, he has a small living-metal firefly. It will be hiding either in the owl's feathers, or in the clothes of whoever he's backseat driving/present with, usually Mukuro. The firefly makes him, and whoever he's with/whoever the owl is perching on, a dead zone to powers and abilities to sense things - completely blank space.

Name: Soma Cruz | [personal profile] eternal_night_ends
Race: Functionally dhampyr/half-vampire.
World Information: Castlevania | Canon Information
Alternate earth! Normal history pretty much intact, but there's a bit of a "half-secret war" between demons, vampires, and other creatures of darkness and human hunters/etc. There's never really been any sign of anything divine interfering beyond some powers shown by some of the humans fighting the darkness. The central focus of some of the worst dark powers is a living demiplane that manifests as an everchanging castle, with a vampire who elevated himself to a sort of chaos lord by being its bound Master.

Personal Information: Here.

Soma's the reincarnation of said vampire lord. As "Matthias Cronquist", he was a close friend to a young baron, Leon Belmont. They fought in the first crusade, came back to Matthias's wife having died, Matthias broke, became a vampire, gained a demiplane of incredible power, and declared and waged war on humanity for the next thousand years, with Leon's descendants fighting him all along, where at some point he started going by "Dracula". Around 1999, he was finally killed, but his ties to the castle/power over it and some contingencies kicked in.

Soma was born to a normal family, but had a "creepy" aura that made it impossible for him to have a social life beyond the shrine-keeper family he stayed with as an exchange student (who knew what he was); when he was seventeen, the Castle appeared and drug him and that family's daughter/his close friend into it. There was an attempt at reviving Matthias through him, he rejected it, and tried to seal the Castle and go back to his life.

"I AM GOING TO BE A NORMAL PERSON DAMNIT" hasn't worked so well.

Issues to Be Explored: Soma is Matthias's reincarnation - it's not two souls in one body or a parasitic relationship, really, he just walls off his past self and is kind of in denial that it's a part of him. He has all of Matthias's memories behind that wall, and the potential to regain Matthias's personality and go Lord of Darkness again, which terrifies him, leading to him avoiding ANYTHING that might be "like Matthias". Sadly, this includes that Matthias was a brilliant tactician and very intelligent, so Soma is, willfully and intentionally, reckless, derpy, and naive.

Religious Affiliation: Raised Catholic, sort of "I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE" agnostic, a little bitter/irritated that demons will come up and wreak havoc but you never see the other side interfering to stop them.
Plot: He's basically careening around the Manor trying to figure it out and finding things with his face.
Stipulations: Go for it!

Name: Kuja | [personal profile] silver_lucifer
Race: Genome. He's an organic, living construct with the powers of a magical Weapon of Mass Destruction that was made to be a vessel for another soul.
World Information: Gaea/Terra | Canon Information

Kuja was created on Terra -a dying world; the Terrans had stored their souls in a device tied to the planet, with a custodian who would work to try to revive their world by essentially leaching off the life force of other worlds. He was used to try to speed that up by going to the "victim" world - Gaea - to wreak havoc and cause death and destruction in an attempt to cause Gaea's own cycle to break down and weaken, making it easier for Terra to absorb.

Personal Information: Here.

Created to be a vessel for one of Terra's souls, he was treated as a "glitch/broken" for having a will of his own, and eventually sent to basically wipe out civilization on Terra's "victim" world. He was never HAPPY with this, but didn't have much choice/was terrorized into it, and went about his work wreaking havoc and orchestrating wars while looking for a power he could turn against his creator in a bid to win his survival/freedom, since he knew the plan was for him to be destroyed as a failure as soon as he wasn't useful anymore. Succeeded at getting some of the powers of Gaea to destroy his creator, but said creator triggered a killswitch; he had a breakdown, destroyed what was left of Terra and tried to wreck some vital parts of Gaea, but as he was dying, indicated wanting to be something other than the villain.

Issues to Be Explored: He's VERY touchy about the fact that he's artificial/a created being, and hides signs of it. He's also very touchy about things like possession or anything taking over his body, and touchy about experimentation or the idea of being forced to serve again. He WANTS to be good, but he doesn't really know how that works after a lifetime of training to be a bastard; he's kind of bad at ethics and empathy, and is currently functioning on enlightened self-interest and being good at people.

Religious Affiliation: Technically, he directly pissed off some of the gods of Gaea.
Plot: Recently arrived, and still basically in a sort of high that he's alive and has something resembling a second chance.
Stipulations: Go right ahead! Be careful with approaching the "created being" thing, he has some violent reflexes.

Name: Kanon | [personal profile] whitelily
Race: Human
World Information: Litchi Hikari Club | Very lacking Wiki (my app on my journal probably has a more detailed history for her than the synopsis-es on the internet make for.

Summarize- Kanon is from earth, most likely around 1990 or something. There is nothing extraordinary about her verse. But the part she comes from is near to (or possibly inside) an extremely grey and lifeless industry sector where children don't really get to have a childhood. It's factories everywhere.

Personal Information: Her app.

Kanon is a girl that's raised to behave like a lady. She gets kidnapped by a club of crazy fanatic boys. They want to have her as a picture and symbol of beauty. Those boys have build a robot with a human heart. Kanon and the robot fall in love. Lots of shit happens between the boys of the club and in the end they all die gory deaths right before Kanon's eyes. The robot dies as well and Kanon is left the only survivor.

Issues to Be Explored: Kanon is extremely naive and has a strong desire to protect and be protected. But she's also extremely avoidant and likely to ignore and accept issues that upset her. She sleeps when things get too bad and therefore avoids conflict.

Also she thinks that everyone will grow to hate her sooner or later because she is 'such a missy'.

Religious Affiliation: Misture of Shintoism and Buddhism most likely? Unknown though. If Kanon prays then most likely to an unspecified god rather than a specific religion.

Plot: Nothing as of now.
Stipulations: Anything is fine.

Name: Tsunayoshi Sawada ("Tsuna" | [personal profile] 3x9
Race: Like Giotto, Tsuna is mostly human! There's some kind of... not-human thing somewhere way back on the family tree, but Tsuna likes to think he's a normal human wormbaby. Feel free to call him on it!
World Information: Katekyo Hitman Reborn! | Refer to Madb's permissions post for Chrome?

AHAHHAHAHAHA Birdy and Madb word this crap so much better than me.
Personal Information: BEHOLD, HIS APP.

Tsuna grew up in modern-day Japan and was kind of a failure at pretty much everything he touched, turning into kind of a minefield of self-worth issues and the absolute assurance that he was going to be a human failure. ...And then the world's greatest hitman moved in with him. Said hitman was also a baby. Over the course of less than a year, Tsuna pretty much helped save the world a few different ways, kicked a lot of asses, and started to move away from being such a bucket of fail.

Oh. And he has a tiny lion who lives in his ring. When he's not being a ring, the tiny lion-familiar looks like this.
Issues to Be Explored: /just lifts these from his app

Loser Baby/Second Guesses Himself: Tsuna thinks he’s a loser, worthless, no-good. And, unfortunately, this belief is self-reinforcing. Ask him to do something like cook, he’ll probably burn it beyond all recognition. Ask him to do a math problem and his answer probably won’t be in the same city as the correct answer. Ask him to do something physical and he’s just as likely to wreck it and fall flat on his face. This mostly owes to the fact that he second (and third, and fourth, and fifth) guesses himself on next to everything, and decides on some level that he is incapable of accomplishing much of anything.
Anxiety Case: Likely because of the conflict between what he actually expects when he tries something, and what he’s been conditioned to think he is capable of, Tsuna has developed a fairly decent set of anxiety-tweaks.

Motivationally Challenged: In some cases, Tsuna will not involve himself in anything or push himself beyond what he is “comfortable” with (read: hating himself for being a ball of failure) without some outside pressure leading him into it. Back home, that pressure was stuck in an infant’s body and named Reborn.

Refuses to Acknowledge He’s Good/Skilled At Anything. Ever.: Getting him to confess to being anything less than a complete failure at something is like pulling teeth, and requires a good amount of verbal arm-twisting and some fairly solid evidence (eg: “I’D BE DEAD IF YOU SUCKED AS MUCH AS YOU SAID YOU DID.”) to get him to even grudgingly admit to any strengths.

Religious Affiliation: HE TRIES VERY HARD NOT TO THINK ABOUT IT. His life is crazy enough.

Basically a human weapon. Very blunt and focused personality, with a real need for a 'master' - someone to rely on/give orders. Has a LOT of triggering moments in his past - warning for child rape, molestation, whipping, semi-torture.
Issues to Be Explored: Former master was very bad juju, needs to break free of his influence. More healthy mindset would be good, less of a 'I deserve to be hurt' thing.
Religious Affiliation: Not at all.
Plot: Currently facewalling into the same plot Mukuro's involved in without any real idea of what he's getting into.

Issues to Be Explored: Maurice suffers from suicidal thoughts. He has died once in the house and now his view (and value) on life and death is kind of skewed. He's scared of the afterlife. Summarize- Basically Earth; however, there is things that happen in her world that touches upon the world of spirits. What she has touched on is many negative things that affect the world of the living in the form of a curse. She sees what is known as the Manor of Sleep in her Dreams, and as she saw disturbing things within her own home for at least a month (depending on how long it takes for a person to play through the game). It's mostly based on Shinto, though there are bits and pieces of Buddhist ties in there.
Personal Information: Application here.

Issues to Be Explored: Well. Rei has a few of them. She is trying to overcome post traumatic depression, various trust issues that have been been inflicted by the House itself. There have been nudges for her to try for intimacy again, and to relax. To say she tends to take things a little too seriously is also a bit of an understatement. She also may suffer from mild insomnia due to her dreams.
Religious Affiliation: Rei is more or less a follower of Shinto. She doesn't talk about it much, as she observed the day to day rituals that come with her lifestyle. However, she does believe in 'kamis' and after meeting some of the powers of the house...oh yes, she believes. In what exactly, she's not sure.
Plot: Oh well. She is a student to a possible power to the house, tends to ask questions, and goes to look at things so she can poke at them. She also likes to find the ghosts and other people during day or night, and offer what comfort she can, as well as get answers.

Summarize- It's basically an Earth where there are a few humans born or trained into various abilities-which can range from anything as using elemental forces, being wizards, and other things. They're about as rare as red heads are to the world, ratio wise. Most of the world doesn't believe in the abilities, or in things other then humans (which there are). There are 'demons', little gods, angels, amongst other things that can interact with the human world on a regular basis, if you know where to look.
Personal Information: Application again.

Issues to Be Explored: AHAHA. Commitment issues and Control issues are the two big ones. She does not want to fall in love and be hurt again, for all that she says to herself that she's stringing people along. Right now, she's dealing with being unable to escape by getting together a power base-by seeing about coverting people to be part of her 'group' so they'll supply protection and information. That may or may not go well. She's also a deceiver, even as she tiptoes between the line of truth and lies.
Religious Affiliation: She was raised a devout Catholic, but has since has become cynical to the idea of religion.
Plot: Sokoya tends to investigate. At the moment, she is seeking out the Wax girl to comfort her, but is also throughly looking over the reminds of the chapel. She's also trying to look into the shadow matter.
Stipulations: If he mentions any of it, best to keep it as vague as possible. She doesn't like giving out information easily.

Name: Jamie McCrimmon | [personal profile] bonnypiperlad
Race: Human
World Information: Doctor Who | Doctor Who is a monster of a canon, so the wiki page here is just for Jamie.

Summarize - Jamie comes from an Earth which is, well, Earth. But the larger universe has all sorts of monsters and aliens and different races, at least one of which that has developed time travel. Various aliens interfere in various ways, including a certain mad man in a box who travels through space and time while he's interfering. There's plenty of adventures...and lots and lots of running.

Personal Information: Jamie's application and his permissions post.

Issues to Be Explored: Right now he's mostly just trying to cope with the house and dealing with the knowledge that he might be able to change things if he's willing to fundamentally change himself by drinking the vial - although he's still very firmly determined not to do that. But there's also impulsiveness and hot-headedness and a large tendency to get into trouble, along with a protective streak when it comes to the women in his life. And he's also slowly becoming aware of his touch empathy power, although he's still in the figuring out that he actually even has it stage of things.

Religious Affiliation: It's never actually said as far as I'm able to find, but since he was a Jacobite it's likely Catholic.

Plot: He's gotten the attention of Danielle, and has a 'gift' from her - a little vial which supposedly is his 'price', and if drunk will take away his memory of the Doctor. She's also said it'll give him the power to pay someone else's price or possibly change something. He's also very good friends with one of the ghosts and has been experimented on by the Phantasms, which has changed a few things. Currently he's checking up on the wax girl and trying not to think too hard about the fact he had to hack a lot of zombies to pieces during the last Night cycle.

Stipulations: He can mention anything he wants, but Jamie may not be happy, depending on what's said.

Name: Akito/Agito/Lind Wanijima | THIS IS COMPLICATED
[personal profile] fanged_wings - Main journal. All three.
[personal profile] sky_sharkling - Akito
[personal profile] sky_shark - Agito
[personal profile] sky_thorns/[personal profile] sky_thistle - Lind
Race: Human.
World Information: It's Earth. It also has rollerblades that defy physics and scientists that attempt to create people. Yeah.

Personal Information: Uuuum, best app, best app... this one. Ignore the DV parts of it, it's the best one I have with all three of them in it. These three are SUPER COMPLICATED, so I'd recommend reading it? *sobs*

Portes-related, they have been separated. Lind's in a Gazelle's old body, Akito and Agito both have their own body.

Issues to Be Explored: Akito has some severe issues. He's terrified of being alone, being anywhere that's like a cage/lab/hospital, he can't handle people being hurt because it reminds him of when he killed once before. He loves his father and will always find a "reason" that he can use to excuse the fact Kaito used to beat him. There's...quite a lot wrong in his head, even though he acts cheerful and upbeat a lot of the time.

Agito's a whole 'nother bag of issues. He exists pretty much for Akito. He can and often does push people away in fear of his attachment to others getting in the way of him protecting Akito. He's kind of terrified of losing his purpose to protect Akito, because he'd be left with nothing. He's resigned to being Akito's shield, and is often afraid of the idea of living his own life, because it's something he's never done before and Agito hates change.

Lind...ahaha. Um. There's a lot here too. She's basically totally broken, though she hides it ridiculously well. Having to commit suicide to prevent people from taking her abilities (and probably hurting a lot of people if they did), even though she did it in front of her beloved and while she was pregnant with Akito, has done a lot to her. She missed Akito growing up, she misses Kaito fiercely, and she's lost so much that right now keeping Akito and Agito safe is one of the few things holding her together mentally. She regrets her decision to die immensely, and has nightmares about that day and many other things frequently. Being a lab rat and having the life she had hasn't done well for her.

Religious Affiliation: Nope. None of them are.
Plot: Akito is determined to get out of the house WITH Lock, his best friend and a house NPC, which has made him the number one enemy of probably too many NPCs to count and friend to several more. So yeah. Even though it's hurt him terribly and will hurt him even worse later on, he's determined to walk that path, no matter what.
Stipulations: Pretty cool with all of it, though Lind may be a little unhappy about her past being revealed at first, though she will slowly accept it.
Tagging: Always c:

Race: I.e., is your character human or something else? Can he know that? Mutant human, and yes!
World Information: X Men Movieverse | His application

Summarize- Earth during the Cuban Missile Crisis, only in this world, some people developed genetic mutations with different abilities and they're still learning about it. So there are mutants and regular humans.

Issues to Be Explored: Charles is still young and not yet the mature leader he will be. He can be manipulative with abilities but he's still realizing what he's capable of. He has some issues of loneliness stemming from childhood. He also misses Erik terribly and their relationship is friendly but also very close.
Religious Affiliation: Not really, he trusts more in people and science than a higher power
Plot: He's still trying to figure out what he can do, likely to offer classes and guidance to others with abilities.
Stipulations: Can Aslan mention any of the above information publicly? If so, how much? Yes, some might even surprise him since he's used to picking up others secrets from telepathy, not having his own picked up.
Tagging: Are you okay with Aslan tagging your character's posts? Definitely !

Name: Jeff Levitt | [personal profile] authoroutofspace
Race: Human. Ish. It's complicated. The house changed him fairly early on in his stay, giving him the ability to shapeshift into a Hound of Tindalos.
World Information: Ordinary Earth, same history as our own.

Personal Information: Maison App.

Jeff's a pretty normal, mild-mannered guy with a very active imagination. He's a divorced horror writer that just published his first novel before the House came along and took him.
Issues to Be Explored: The House has not been kind to him, and the strain is really starting to show. He's been turned into an animal, attacked and almost killed, driven away from the few places he felt safe (there's a presence in the chapel that has made it very clear he's not welcome, and Danielle destroyed the library and won't let him fix it), and saw his best friend mutilated. He also received a phone call and then a note from his ex-wife, both making it clear she'd moved on. Jeff hasn't, so that hit him pretty hard.

He's feeling very helpless and is starting to lose hope and lose faith.
Religious Affiliation: Jeff is very religious. He was raised Catholic, and though he doesn't quite adhere to dogma, he still strongly believes in God.
Plot: On night 17 he was kidnapped and subjected to experimental brain surgery in an attempt to "cure" him. His ability to shapeshift is currently locked away, but can be triggered by others. The trigger forces him into his hound form and instills a strong loyalty and protective instinct towards whoever triggered him. Both of these effects wear off when he sleeps or loses consciousness. More details here.
Stipulations: Mention whatever you'd like!
Tagging: Absolutely!

Name: Dean Winchester | [personal profile] chosenfreedom
Race: Human (also true [never possessed] vessel for the Archangel Michael) sure, it's common knowledge in many supernatural circles in his world.
World Information: Supernatural| Canon Information

Summarize- A very crapsack version of Earth where the supernatural is real and often has to be hunted. All the myths are trye basically with more pagan gods and creatures to shake a shotgun at. There is Hell and demons, but also Heaven and angels, and neither side is great overall. God is staying back/MIA and a couple of humans and a falling angel stopped the Apocalypse and sent Lucifer back into his cage with Michael in tow. For Dean's timeline, there's a war in Heaven about possibly restarting the end of world and the mother of monsters showing up (Eve).
Personal Information: Partial app there more of his history there he's now mid season 6 so he's got Sam back if worried about losing him to hell memories overwhelming his brother. With Dean, it's pretty much, it gets worse for most of his life. Lost mother to a demon who killed her and set house on fire. Dad went on revenge bent and trained sons on the road to be hunters of the supernatural. Lost dad to same demon when his dad did a deal to save his life. Killed said demon, but went to hell a year later because of a deal to save brother. Angels bring him out of hell, only it's to help bring the end of the world and begin paradise for the remaining half to survive. Screw destiny, stops that, loses brother to hell, brother comes back, briefly soulless. Does a deal with Death to play him for a day to get bro soul back. And so it goes.
Issues to Be Explored: Dean got enough issues to make a psychiatrist retire comfortably with the amount of therapy needed. Daddy issues, abandonment issues, low self esteem to the point of extreme doormat, only here to help others, martyr complex, PTSD, alcoholism. (Possible subtext issues with a certain angel) But somehow he finds the way to keep going, hunting things and saving people.
Religious Affiliation: Might have attended some service due to a family friend who was a pastor, but while he believes, he also figures God doesn't give a crap due to all the bad stuff going on, and he's tired of cleaning up the mess at times. He does pray, but mostly to his friend and more angel, Castiel. He thinks most angels are dicks and not much better than demons.
Plot: Patrolling, also trying to figure out a way out. Is on Danielle's shit list. Ditto for her on his. Trying to keep family safe, and slowly training Ben ( a recently found out son) on hunting. He and Sam might start classes also. Also doing therapy with one of the house Doctors which is slowly helping a little.
Stipulations: Can Aslan mention any of the above information publicly? If so, how much? Yes, any of it. He's used to beings bringing it up before. He will be more twitchy on some things like what happened and what he did in Hell though.
Tagging: Are you okay with Aslan tagging your character's posts? Absolutely, though expect a weapon aimed in his direction at first. Just how he is.

Name: Remus Lupin | [personal profile] aventine
Race: Werewolf, and yes, Aslan may know that.
World Information: Harry Potter | Canon Information

Summarize- Standard Earth. From Remus' canon point, the First Wizarding War has just ended, so while the non-magical people don't have much frame of reference for what's happened, everyone in the wizarding world is still picking up the pieces. It's assumed that witches and wizards follow the typical religions for their region, though the subject is not really touched-upon in canon.
Personal Information: Application.

Issues to Be Explored: Remus' entire life is crap. Six months ago, three of his best friends were murdered, and the last remaining one was sent to Azkaban for committing a massacre. As if he weren't unstable enough with all the persecution he faced growing up as a werewolf, the events post-war have not helped him. He's in a state of post-traumatic stress at the moment. So there are some ideas.

Religious Affiliation: It's never discussed in canon, so I don't play him as having any religious affiliation.

Plot: Remus just got here too, so not as yet.

Stipulations: Remus may find it very intrusive at first, but he'll be okay with it, as long as Aslan doesn't put it out there for everyone to hear. He's a very private person, keeps people at arms length, and goes to great pains to hide his lycanthropy. But I think they could be awesome buddies.

Name: Rachel | [personal profile] learnyourplace
Race: Angel
World Information: Supernatural | Canon Information

Summarize- ahahaha, what Dean said. Rachel's canon point is near the same: there's a war in Heaven. She was a lieutenant in the rebellion, fighting to not restart the Apocalypse.
Personal Information: Here.
Link includes Portes app, a long (/sob) headcanoned history, and all sorts of information.

Issues to Be Explored: Rachel is still learning how to make her own decisions. She doesn't trust any in her family. She's frightened and lonely and refusing to acknowledge it.
Religious Affiliation: Rachel is an Angel; devout is pretty much what she's created to be, but given recent events, her faith is shaken to the point of near-unrecoverable.
Plot: As of now, Rachel is powerless. Her mindset is moving past her current "uselessness" and dealing with the house as it comes at her. Thanks to an extended hiatus, Rachel has been away from the general public for some time and kept confined. She is working on rekindling relationships she had before, seeking out friends, and relearning the house.
Stipulations: If Aslan finds a need to, I don't mind at all. Rachel might be a bit annoyed. :)

Summarize- EVERYONE IS XEHANORT. OR SORA. There's some disneyworlds, too.

Personal Information: Here.

App thangs

Issues to Be Explored: Unexplored guilt, survivor's guilt, father/parental issues, betrayal & tattered loyalties, intellectual doubts & a heavy lack of childhood innocence, self-delusions, hearts & darkness, the usual recovering Nobody existential crises & suppressed emotions in general. Ienzo's got a whole mixed bag to reach into and he's very reluctant to see it opened at all, so... take your pick?

Religious Affiliation: That twisted pile of whatever Xemnas has stuffed into his head + some lingering history (with heavy skepticism) about Radiant Garden's absolutist views on Light's tedious triumph over Darkness & The Innate Goodness of Children's Hearts, which is a bit more localized folklore than religious dogma.

(He's got some distant disdain & lingering questions about his time in La Cite Des Cloches, which is the only glimpse of anything resembling our-world Catholicism that we get in Kingdom Hearts universe.)

Plot: Ienzo's been penpalling with several house residents (Ricci and and unnamed Shadowman) and reconnecting with Xehanort, which better sense keeps telling him he should really think twice about doing... and he does anyway. He's encountered Riku and they've been walking on pins. I don't have any massive plot lined up, but would prefer we keep 3D Spoilers under our hats as long as possible.

Stipulations: I trust you, ping me before you bombshell the masses with anything that could massively CR-breaking. ;)

Name: He was born Janus, Prince of Zeal; he took the name Magus (please feel free to use either) | [personal profile] false_oracle
Race: Human and he's welcome to know that, despite the way he's been twisted by shadows and demons.
World Information: Chrono Triger | Wiki

It is not Earth, although no name is ever given for the planet. Magus is involved in a LOT of major, sometimes literally world-shaking events.

65 million BCE: Lavos (a parasitic being) descends from the sky and alters evolution as it needs.
12,000 BCE: the Queen of Zeal separates magic and non-magic people, making the later a slave class. Her son, Janus, is taken into a time portal shortly before Lavos awakens for a brief moment and destroys the kingdom of Zeal.
600 CE: Magus rises to become King of the Mazuko (demons). Lavos awakens briefly and destroys Magus' castle.
1000 CE: An accident causes time portals to open
1999 CE: If history had continued unchanged, Lavos would have awakened and brought on the Apocalypse
2300 CE: Mankind would be quickly dying out as food becomes more and more scarce; robots rise up to turn humans into energy tabs.

Creation: There were two species, the hairless apes and the reptites. When Lavos descended, the Reptites died off. Lavos effected evolution of everything on the planet as she/it needed. The natural forces of the planet and the forces affected by Lavos would always be at odds (which is not gone into until Chrono Cross).

Personal Information: Here.

He is a dark, broody thing who hates everyone except his sister. He needs a good therapist.

Issues to Be Explored: Magus has been more than willing to commit genocide if it meant he could learn magic to get to his sister. He only lives for his sister. She is all that matters. His life is nothing.

Religious Affiliation: Um... none. Lavos was all but a god to his people and he saw what that got everyone. Everyone, even "gods", only use people until their use runs out. Screw the world! (Really, boy needs a therapist)

Plot: He wants to kill Danielle. She made him feel fear, so obviously she must die.

Stipulations: Oh please, use it all.

World Information: Nippon | She's AU< so here's her app.

Summarize- It's like Earth's Japan, but not. She potentially just saved it from Orochi, a snake-like dragon-demon fellow. Humans either think she's just a normal wolf, or that she is literally the sun goddess Amaterasu; while there are gods and goddesses, and Amaterasu works for the sun goddess, she isn't actually the sun goddess herself.

Personal Information: Here.

She's floofy and loving, but has a huge guilt complex. Have fun.

Issues to Be Explored: She loves everyone. She wishes she could save everyone, and help everyone become good people, but she knows some people just can't be saved holy hell does she have a guilt complex about having to kill. She feels horrible any time she has to hurt anyone.

Religious Affiliation: She's the avatar of the sun goddess. Yep, she's pretty devout.

UUUH PB IS OBVIOUSLY PRINCE CASPIAN BUT ASLAN BEING ASLAN I FIGURE HE WILL KNOW VIA GODLINESS THAT IT ISNT REALLY.

Name: Daylen Amell (The Warden) | [personal profile] magewarden
Race: Human mage (this is fine to know, mages are kinda obvious)
World Information: Dragon Age | His home

Summarize: Medieval Fantasy Europe, specifically Medieval Fantasy England. Swords, Dragons, mages, titles, Assassins, etc. Life sucks because of the Blight which basically entails monsters called darkspawn razing everything. Daylen is born a mage, which makes him basically dirty and untrustworthy. Mages are sent away to be raised in towers that are essentially prisons, in a sort of 'you die if you fail and if you pass you can stay here even longer studying forever!' way. The creation/god mythos is centred around the Chantry/The Maker. It is close to Catholicism, to be honest. here.

Personal Information: Here.

[ I am going to tidy that post later today ftr so if it abruptly changes format that is why ]

High born but because a mage child given away instantly to the Circle Tower. Raised to be a perfect mage child and eventually a First Enchanter, therefore Important And Special because he's the PC of his game and all PCs are skilled and special. He becomes a Grey Warden when the Warden Commander comes to his Circle Tower to recruit to fight the Blight. He goes to war in Ostagar, everyone dies aside from him and a friend. Despite having been a warden longer his friend can't make decisions so Daylen ends up in charge and goes around saving the world a whole lot with the most peaceful, diplomatic methods he can.

Issues to Be Explored:
Daylen has a metric ton of issues. He is a mage, and mages are basically considered dirty according to the local religion because years ago mages ruined everything. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders, is terrified of failing his friends / the world and constantly ties himself in moral knots. He listens to everyone else's problems and shuts up about his own, lets people force situations upon him stops to help every single kitten and beggar child even when he literally is already putting himself through the wringer. Flings himself into danger without a second though.

Religious Affiliation: He belongs to the Chantry religion by default, but does not actively worship. It's just sort of drummed into him as fact the same way one might learn history because the place he grew up is co-run by Templars who are the warriors of the Chantry. If questioned about it he'd be kind of awkwardly on the fence, since it is a religion that controls and oppresses him by virtue of being a mage and keeps mages in dangerous, unhealthy situations.

(Templars are often known to abuse captive mages, dragon age is dark)

Plot: Not really, he's sort of new!

Stipulations: I can't really think of much that would BE OF BENEFIT BUT SEND ME A MESSAGE IF FOR SOME REASON IT COMES UP there finished sentences are awesome.

Name: Heather Mason | [personal profile] ofsnakesandreeds
Race: Human
World Information: Silent Hill 3 | Canon Information

Summarize- Heather is from Earth and lived in the Daisy Villa Apartments. She recently finished her horrible trek through Hell itself (Silent Hill) and no longer carries the evil "god" that was in her womb. (You can read the mythos behind this god here.) Also, her real name is Cheryl but it's a secret.
Personal Information:
Wiki Page Here.
App Page Here.

Issues to Be Explored: Before arriving to the house, Heather had been a vessel to a demon who was nestled within her womb. Probably had been all her life, but she hadn't noticed till she encountered a woman name Claudia, who awoke that creature. Which, in turn, the demon projected horrible nightmares onto the world around Heather. Creating symbolic monsters, bloodied walls and floors, Hellish noise, and forced the teen to do things she, or any normal person, would never EVER do. But even though Heather had expelled the "god" within her, she still carries it in a way since it is apart of her and her past selves (You can read about it in the "Sensitivity/Magical Ability" section of her app).
Yes, she has past selves. Alessa and Cheryl. Heather is a reincarnation of them put together as they are one person. More on that on her Wiki Page.
After arriving at the Houses, Heather has been searching for a way out, much like everyone else. She hasn't given up, nor does she plan to any time soon. Someone is waiting for her outside of the madhouse (Douglas Cartland) and it's a pretty strong motivation for her. But she also wants those that she knows to get out, too. At least if she thinks they deserve it.
Uh... Heather is pretty troubled and is easily pissed off. More can be read about that in the Personality section of her app. xD;
HEATHER'S GOT A BUNCH OF PROBLEMS, PRETTY MUCH.

Religious Affiliation: After her experiences, she does believe that there's something out there but her view on religion is very jaded.

Plot: Uhh... No, there are no plots going around. Currently Heather's objective is to find the head of the House and kill it so that she and all the others can get the hell out. However, she hasn't even come close to finding the head so it frustrates her to no end.
She has, however, been pretty roughed up during her stay.

Stipulations: He can mention any of Heather's troubles, pasts, current concerns, or whatever. He has permission to see right through her. XD

Tagging: Of course! More than welcome! <3

Fourth-Walling: Heather knows VERY little about Narnia, but only when people reference to a deep hole, or something of the like, leading to Narnia. So if he said he was from there, she'd probably laugh.

Immediately before he was transported to the house, Raphael announced to Castiel that he intended to re-start the Apocalypse and would tolerate no resistance this time around, and proceeded to more or less beat the crap out of Cas, leaving him on the ground barely conscious and having to consider whether he's up to starting a civil war in Heaven to keep his friends from becoming pawns a second time. It's a huge decision that will come with tremendous loss whatever he chooses, and it weighs heavily on him. As it stands, Castiel has chosen to fight and is preparing himself to lead a rebellion.
Personal Information: Here.

Castiel was created a soldier when the world was made. He lived his life following orders and revering his father and older siblings, obeying without question though he rarely if ever heard from his father directly. He fought on Heaven's side in the war of Lucifer's fall. Then in the twenty-first century he was ordered to rescue Dean Winchester from Hell, and so began a relationship that would turn his world upside down. As he grew closer to the Winchesters, he began to question the plans and motives of his family, ultimately deciding to rebel and fight with them to avert the Apocalypse Heaven was set on bringing about. It cost him his powers (and his life on two occasions) but he was steadfast in his decision. Now free will is at the center of his belief system, and he feels called to bring the message to his brothers and sisters, believing that his father resurrected him so that he could do so.

Issues to Be Explored: Shortly after arriving in the house, Castiel received some very bad news from Rachel and Bobby about his future: that he would become caught up in a deal with the King of Hell in his efforts to thwart Raphael's ambitions, opening Purgatory and even killing Rachel. It is so contrary to his goals and his intentions that it has made him question his nature, whether he is truly good or whether there might be something evil inside him that he has never noticed and may not be able to control. Having lost the trust of the people dearest to him in the house and (so far) unable to win it back, he has begun to doubt himself and now fears he may be a second Lucifer.
Religious Affiliation: Learning that God considered the plight of the world "not His problem" shook Castiel's faith considerably, but he has maintained a death-grip on it nevertheless and is still devout despite his experiences.
Plot: Castiel is in an odd predicament at the moment; he has had huge wings grafted to his back and, thanks to a device implanted in his frontal lobe, switches out with his vessel Jimmy every six to eight hours. He was also beginning to investigate the disappearance of a little girl named Claire, but was intercepted by Phantasms, experimented on further and told in no uncertain terms to quit. Because they threatened Jimmy, Cas backed down and agreed not to return to the girl. (As a result of his second experiment, his eyes appear black in any reflective surface, and his reflection tends to take on a life of its own and maim and kill others' reflections, a manifestation of his worst fears.)
Stipulations: Yes, and as much as he sees fit.

Name: Ken Joshima | [personal profile] flehmenresponse
Race: Semi-human, with animal-modifications thanks to experiments.
World Information: Katekyo Hitman Reborn | Wiki's fairly horrific.

Modern-earth, magic willpower fuelled rings and 'flames'/powers.
Personal Information: Ken's app here.

Abandoned at a young age on the streets, taken in by the Estraneo at about three/four. Experimented on until about age seven. Killed everyone in the Estraneo, with Chikusa and Mukuro, and escaped. Continued a semi-genocidal spree under Mukuro's guiding hand until about age 14. Did not so much join the good side as shuffle vaguely in their direction and hang out in the closet with the rest of Kokuyou.

Issues to Be Explored: Ken is a bit of a damage case, and kind of angry. Vague PTSD reactions to some things - does NOT like bathing, and has trouble seeing any kind of fight as anything but life-or-death, even if it's just sparring. has trouble opening up to anyone who is not part of His People - very small group that is mostly Kokuyou.
Religious Affiliation: Not in any sense whatsoever.
Plot: Part of Mukuro's group, tangentially around Lily and the whole Baby Thing.
Stipulations: Ken is... wary and pissy and not likely to react in a friendly manner to someone who knows too much about him with no reason for it. That said, go for it!
Tagging: Yes!
yardbird: (revenge is a long tretcherious road)

[personal profile] yardbird 2013-04-11 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Name: Murphy Pendleton | [personal profile] yardbird
Race: Human
World Information: Silent Hill: Downpour | Canon Information

Summarize- Murphy hails from modern-day Boston, Massachusetts. Only thing that's really "world shaking" to him (other than the rape and murder of his only son) is the fact that his prison transfer bus just happens to take a wrong turn into the wrong town with the wrong company and he winds up crashing into Silent Hill: Land of pink bunnies and happy dolphins.
No it's actually pretty awful.
Personal Information: Here.

The history potion is probably what's most important, as I follow a different continuity of Downpour's canon. Also it's pretty spoiler-heavy. Obviously.

Issues to Be Explored: Murphy's done things that he isn't proud of. While he regrets many of them, killing Napier is one thing that he can't bring himself to take back or claim he'd have done things any differently. His feelings on killing his son's murderer in cold blood is complicated and an ongoing battle that he deals with every day.
The death of Frank Coleridge is another image that haunts him, as well as the death of his daughter, Anne Cunningham. In canon Murphy literally could not handle the guilt, and even attempted to "opt out" by killing himself -- and failing. Because Silent Hill wouldn't have any of that. Because of this, Murphy walks on a fine line with death, wanting to die but accepting the fact that he's unable to (well before he even came to the House).
Though he had confronted many things that clearly weren't human during his time in Silent Hill, Murphy perceives himself to be the true monster.

Religious Affiliation: Murphy has a love-hate relationship with God, but at its core he is a raised Irish-Catholic. He just struggles with where he stands with his faith, knowing full well that he's going to Hell no matter what he does, and he's still very much angry with God for "allowing" his son to suffer (as he sees it). If nothing else, the only other person that Murphy hates more than himself is his belief that somehow keeps on going.

Plot: Given how Murphy feels about God and religion for so long, I think exploring those realms would be something I'd enjoy playing with.

Stipulations: Yes!

Tagging: Absolutely!

if_i_survive: (⚔ But we got one more night)

[personal profile] if_i_survive 2013-04-11 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Name: Ritz Malheur | [personal profile] if_i_survive
Race: Human!
World Information: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance/Ivalice Alliance [AU] | Link to the Ivalice Alliance portal. She's from post-FFTA, and the majority of the games on there are Ancient History in her world.

HAHAHAH. Ritz's world, on the surface, seems about like ours in the mid-to-late 80's/early 90's. Limited internet, no magic to speak of... except for the fact that there totally is. My take on it is that the government got quite fond of power (there seems to be a trend of The Government Likes Power And Will Manipulate And Hurt People To Get And Keep It) and basically forced all the magic-users out. There used to be a plethora of non-human races. They're gone now, far out of memory. Anything that might imply the world is not Totally Mundane has been actively squished since time immemorial.

Except where things from the past come back.
Personal Information: App here.

Ritz grew up pretty normal, loving mom and dad in a tiny northern town. Dad disappeared one day, never to return! Ritz lived life as normal for a while. Got sent to a dream-world by a weird book, realized that said Weird Book was not just some way-out-there fantasy thing, started obsessively studying said book and becoming more paranoid and fearful of her government.

Issues to Be Explored:

Brittle Strength - While Ritz talks a good game and has more than her fair share of determination, her insecurities make that strength of character quite brittle.

Paranoia, Paranoia, Everybody's Coming to Get Me - Because of how thoroughly her world has been manipulated, and her own status in opposition of that, Ritz is understandably paranoid.

Perfectionism - Good luck trying to get her to stop making snippy internal monologues about how anything less than perfect from her isn't acceptable.

Amazing Human Stress Ball - Left on her own devices, without any interference or people she trusts to unburden herself to, it is entirely likely that she will work herself into a breakdown and only compound it by trying to not let it show. It will only get worse if she is severely hurt in some way, or forced into a form of "downtime".
Looks gift horses in the mouth - Ritz doesn't trust the better natures of people. She doesn't trust people, and certainly doesn't think that people will think highly of her, or want to be friends with her. She is AMAZINGLY skilled at rationalizing away why someone would think well of her. In addition, she is fairly sure that she's only useful in a practical sense, and thinks of things in that light.

Religious Affiliation: NOPE. NONE.
Plot: NOT REALLY, but she has a giant magical tome on her back that basically serves as an 'ark' to bring back the parts of Ivalican history (the other races and magic, things like that) that had vanished from her world. It's on her back/in her backpack.
Stipulations: None really, but if he mentions the Grimoire she will go paranoid and avoid the everloving hell out of him.

[personal profile] animalhats 2013-04-11 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Name: Molly Hayes | [personal profile] animalhats
Race: Daughter of Eve (mutated version) ;) And yes, he can know that.
World Information: Marvel Comics | Canon Information, mutants specifically ...yeah, it's comics. :(

A version of earth! Magic! Gods! Superheroes! Civil War and Secret Invasion are big events that have happened recently.

Personal Information: Portes app, Tushan app - they have a slightly different structure, so they're not identical.

Basically, Molly was raised by 2 doctors in an upper-class family in LA. When she was 11 (almost 12), she and the kids of her parents closest friends (all of them only children) discovered that their parents were actually a secret evil organization called the Pride that basically ran LA, and were time travellers, sorcerers, mutants, etc. The older kids kept Molly in the dark initially, but after meeting up later and running away, decided that they couldn't leave Molly there, especially after their parents contacted them threatening to hurt Molly if they didn't turn themselves back in. Their attempt to save Molly was when Molly first displayed her mutant abilities.

Since then, they've been betrayed by one of their number (who died, not at their hands), their parents died, they've picked up a couple new kids, and one of the older kids Molly was closest to was killed. They have been squatting in places their parents owned, and trying to redeem their names by fighting crime and evil.

Issues to Be Explored: She doesn't trust grown-ups. She's a little more inclined to do so than her friends, since she's younger, but she really doesn't. The younger you are, the more likely she is to trust you. If you're in a position of authority over her, or she perceives that you are, she absolutely WILL NOT trust you without a lot of work.

Also, she hasn't actually properly processed the idea that her parents were bad guys. She throws it around as fact, but after her canon point she's brought face-to-face with something they actually did, and it really strikes her for the first time that they were bad people, while still being the people who loved her and raised such a curious, intelligent, good daughter.

Aaaand lastly she is PETRIFIED, like worst nightmare petrified, of losing or not being able to use her powers. She's so young and she has so little power or agency in her life even as a runaway (since she's the baby and the older kids are the ones moderately "in charge". She's come face to face with horrible people doing horrible things, some of them (like her parents, or original group member Alex, who betrayed them) people she trusted. Her only defense, her only way of fighting back, is her powers. They're what gives her a sense of security. But it's somewhat tenuous in a place that can fuck with you like the House.

Religious Affiliation: Nope. Her parents were mildly agnostic, but she never went to church or had any religious upbringing.

Plot: Not yet!

Stipulations: Go. Nuts. Seriously, I have no problem with Aslan mentioning things to her, mentioning things about her to other people she might be trusting, mentioning things to people she doesn't know who he thinks should meet her, whatever. Have a field day.

Tagging: YES!!!!

ETA: She has, imo, most likely read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, but that's probably it. So she'll know who Aslan is, but nothing spoilery. :3

AKA Theta Sigma, The Last Of The Time Lords, The Oncoming Storm, The Ka Faraq Gatri/Bringer Of Darkness, The Destroyer Of Worlds, The Predator of the Daleks, The Lonely God, The Sainted Physician, The Mighty Warrior, and John Smith.

Race: Gallifreyan/Time Lord. I'd be surprised if Aslan DIDN'T know this.

World Information: 'Doctor Who' | Canon Information (WARNING: This entry is H U G E.)

Summarize- Gallifrey had an ancient civilisation which frequently boasted that they'd mastered FTL travel (or was it warp matrix engineering?) when the universe was half its present size, which tells you how long ago THAT was. In their reality they had a stranglehold on the travelling in and manipulation of time itself for what seemed like forever. Gallifrey itself was a standard M-class planet in a binary solar system, dotted with domed cities and ancient, sentient houses.

And then it was destroyed completely in the culmination of the Time War against the Daleks by the Doctor himself, about two regenerations ago. Aheh. Whups.

I've never heard of any kind of a creation myth among the Gallifreyans. They had a polytheistic religion a bazillion years ago (else they wouldn't have named constellations things like 'Kasterborus The Trickster,' methinks) but I haven't found anything written about it. The closest they have to a god is Rassilon and according to the New Series he's a real bastard so there you go.

Personal Information: The Doctor's app.

The Doctor's half-assed permission post.

I'm afraid there is no such animal as 'a brief summary of the Doctor's life.' :x Wikipedia can tell you all about it. (WARNING: this entry is also H U G E.)

Issues to Be Explored: Mainly despair. The Doctor is this close to giving up but he doesn't even know what he'd do if he gave up. Curl up and refuse to regenerate? He is literally at his wits' end. He has had absolutely no luck whatsoever in finding out the source of the power in this House.

Religious Affiliation: The Doctor is the ultimate atheist and regularly disproves religions, revealing gods as being powerful aliens or 'the man behind the curtain' with almost worrisome regularity.

Plot: Right now the Doctor is attempting to gather information at the behest of his former selves, with whom he had a telepathic conversation not long ago. He's desperately looking for a way out or his TARDIS or both.

Stipulations: Can Aslan mention any of the above information publicly? Yyyyyep.

Tagging: Go right ahead!

I'm pretty sure the Doctor knows who Aslan is. If nothing else, he's read the books, probably met CS Lewis at some point. OR he's met Aslan himself, whichever you prefer. c: Don't worry about the Doc spoiling anything, as I scarcely know the Narnia canon.

Name: Alucard | [personal profile] kismetatropos
Race: Vampire, formerly human
World Information: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow | Canon Information

Summarize- Alucard's world is 11th century Europe (specifically the area that will eventually become Romania) with the added bonus of monsters existing and having a tendency to attack townsfolk. Vampires, werewolves, zombies, harpies, you name it. The world is very dangerous and is still recovering from a huge mess involving Satan controlling the dark forces.
Personal Information: Here.

Issues to Be Explored: Despair and self loathing are the major ones. Alucard did not want to be turned into a vampire, and would have been content dying. He hates what he has become, and he has extreme issues because it was his father, himself corrupted, who turned him. It is wanting to destroy his father that keeps him going. It's not an easy or healthy existence.

As a vampire Alucard has a rage that can never truly go away and thus do need to be addressed somehow. It can't ever be fixed since it's an inherent part of his curse, but he does need to learn how to manage it.
Religious Affiliation: Devout Christian. Though as a vampire he's more than likely in the "cannot be saved" category, however unwilling his transformation was.
Plot: Having been told about the monsters, he'll be trying to protect people come nightfall. Before that, he'll be trying to familiarize himself with the layout.
Stipulations: I don't have any. Go wild!

World Information: Saints Row The Third (All three games actually) | Alex's App

Summarize- It's essentially a modern day earth, but there's no way mention of Alex's exploits wouldn't make news. Essentially she and her gang, the Third Street Saints rule over Stillwater City with an Iron fist and have recently expanded their influence into Steeport. I reccomend the application, even though it's long ^^;;

Personal Information: App Again

Issues to Be Explored: Alex doesn't suffer from guilt for her actions so much as she's never known any other life. She probably knows somewhere inside that what she does is wrong, but her survival of the fittest attitude takes the fore. She misses friends she's lost and regrets that they died. Also she has fairly serious PTSD.

Religious Affiliation: Not even remotely.
Plot: Alex was bitten on the neck by the Lady in White and the scar won't go away, even under magical healing. You'd probably have to ask the mods for details on that.

Stipulations: He can mention whatever he likes :) Alex won't necessarily own up to it though, she may just wave it away.

Race: He is a fox. The fox from fables, to be exact.
World Information: Erm. Fables? | Wikipedia link!

Reynard is from fables, as I said, a trickster archetype. In that sense he comes from human conscious, if anything. He has been around for a long while, up to modern times.
Personal Information: Here.

And the application to Maison...
Issues to Be Explored: Reynard doesn't think he needs any counsel whatsoever. But he is also a trickster capable of heroic deeds as well as horrible things just for the sake of Schadenfreude. So, there's a lot of stuff there.
Religious Affiliation: One of the roles the fox in fables is often given is to be against the authority of organized religion. I play it as him not being devout in any form, but being aware of different faiths, especially Christian, and not above poking fun at it.
Plot: He is doing people every now and then. Erm. He's a very sexual trickster archetype! :) Also, he is deliberately baiting the Little Miss to gather information. And generally he is always up to no good. His main goal is getting him and Niall out of the house.
Stipulations: Sure, Aslan can say whatever Aslan wants. It's ASLAN.
Tagging: If by okay you mean ecstatic, then yes. Reynard's king back home is a lion and he is rather fond of him, so there is at least one positive association already!

...I just realized I need to do this for Jimmy as well as Castiel.

Name: Jimmy Novak | [personal profile] poetryforfish
Race: Human. It's pretty obvious, especially if you meet him after meeting Cas, so Aslan can know.
World Information: Supernatural | Canon Information

Summarize- See Cas's information. Jimmy's last coherent memories are from one year into the breaking of the 66 Seals that would eventually free Lucifer, however he was alive inside Castiel until their second death a year later, a few weeks prior to Castiel's arrival in the house.
Personal Information: Here.

Jimmy was an ordinary man living an ordinary life until two years ago. Out of the blue, an angel began speaking to him: Castiel. He told Jimmy that God had a special plan for him, something that was "in his blood." Jimmy was awed and thrilled, but his wife couldn't believe what was happening. She told him that he was sick, and he needed to get help or she would take their daughter and leave. But Jimmy couldn't turn aside from his mission, so having extracted a promise from Castiel that his family would be kept safe, he agreed to become Castiel's vessel.

A year later, Castiel, troubled by inconsistencies he'd begun to notice with his siblings, had begun to question the things he was being asked to do and investigate things that bothered him. For this, he was punished; other angels came and removed him from Jimmy by force, dragging him back to Heaven and leaving Jimmy alone and confused. Thinking Castiel gone completely, Jimmy returned home and tried to re-establish a bond with his wife and daughter. However, demons got wind of his position and abducted them. Jimmy, Sam, and Dean went to rescue them, and Jimmy was fatally wounded in the ensuing fight. Castiel returned at the last minute, taking Jimmy's daughter as a vessel. Knowing that he would die anyway, Jimmy again offered his service to Castiel, ensuring that Claire would get to grow up and live her own life. Jimmy had been in a state of half-sleep inside Castiel since then...

...and then he suddenly woke up here. Thanks to an Experiment, he and Castiel switch out every six to eight hours.

Issues to Be Explored: In the house, Jimmy mostly feels useless in comparison to Cas. He's been able to help out some individuals, like Laura, but in general he often feels like a hindrance, and very out of place.
Religious Affiliation: Devout Christian
Plot: Jimmy developed a relationship with a little girl named Claire some weeks ago, and promised to help her... but the creatures of the house seem to have their eye on her. When Jimmy talked Castiel into trying to rescue her from the Doctors, phantasms descended on them and performed a second Experiment, forbidding Castiel to interfere further on her behalf. While Jimmy understands that Castiel can't afford to disobey the phantasms for both their sakes, he is very worried about Claire and determined to at least keep an eye on her.
Stipulations: This can absolutely be discussed by Aslan with others. As much as he sees fit. Once Jimmy learns who he is, he certainly won't object!

Religious Affiliation: His belief in Kingdom Hearts is the closest thing to devotion he has

I am so, so sorry for all this TL;DR

[personal profile] nineredsquares 2013-05-09 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Name: James Sunderland | [personal profile] nineredsquares
Race: James is a human, although he underwent a Phantasm experiment within Maison that physically deformed him into a part-hellhound thing, so he is literally part-monster.
World Information: Silent Hill | Canon Information
James is from the main game series (there's also a couple of movies, comic books, and spinoff games, but none of those take place in the same universe as the main series).

The long and short of his canon is that there is a small historical town in rural Maine named Silent Hill, and over the course of history + some specific events in the first game, the town developed the ability to manifest different layers of reality and create physical representations of peoples' fears, inner demons, past traumas or crimes, etc. It calls out to people with pain or darkness in them, and such individuals occasionally find themselves drawn to the town (usually they have some past connection to it, so you won't find some random dude from like... Peru or something suddenly being compelled to hop a plane and fly to Silent Hill unless something happened either in the past or present to connect them to the town. Connections don't have to be big or overly significant, though).
The town has gained a reputation of being super spooky and full of weird people (it's out in the boonies, has a history of mysterious disappearances, and there's a local semi-underground cult that does creepy stuff), but not many people know the truth about it and its many "other sides".

In terms of religion, Silent Hill has heavy religious themes centering around the resident cult, whose practices are a strange meld of Christianity (which does exist in this universe and is practiced by several characters, so it's probably just as common as it is in real-life America) and the spiritual beliefs of the Native American tribes who once inhabited the area before white settlers drove them out. God is feminine, and most of the cult's beliefs are centered around Her second coming in the form of rebirth, at which point the existing world will be destroyed and Paradise will arrive.
A complete (but brief) telling of their Creation myth can be found over here.
Much of the series focuses on the cult's various attempts to birth God and bring on the apocalypse, usually utilizing innocent victims in the process, as they believe that pain and suffering will nurture the God and make it more powerful (some individuals in the cult take a different view, which is that only through pain and suffering can a truly compassionate, merciful god who will save humanity be born).
That said, it is implied that Silent Hill's spiritual properties were once wholesome and benevolent, but were corrupted and poisoned by the cruelty and suffering of humanity, making it hard to tell if the many reborn incarnations of God are truly evil, or just tortured and corrupted by the ones summoning Her/them (and therefore very dangerous), making Her/them almost a victim as much as the people who get hurt in order to strengthen it.
These incarnations of God are not invulnerable and are killed by humans (specifically, three different protagonists in the series) in order to prevent the apocalypse, but the deaths are not permanent as 'God' Herself never truly dies, just loses the physical form/vessel that was created by whatever ritual summoned it to begin with.

THAT SAID, James's story does not delve into the cult's or really have anything to do with the religious aspect of the series, his game focuses purely on the town's effect on individuals struggling with their own inner demons.

Personal Information: Here.

James led a fairly normal, average life for the most part. He was a shy kid growing up but eventually met and fell in love with a woman named Mary, whom he married. In all respects they were a perfectly normal young couple, but tragedy struck a few years into their marriage when Mary was diagnosed with an unspecified terminal disease. What followed was a descent into bleakness as Mary grew weaker and weaker, her relationship with James turning from loving to dysfunctional. In her fear and pain, she lashed out at him on a regular basis as well as talked constantly about wanting to die, and James grew alternately resentful of her treatment and agonized over the sight of her suffering.
To put a long story short, both grew more and more emotionally unstable as the years went on and at last, as she was on death's doorstep, James's sanity snapped and he killed her. Horrified by his actions, James went into shock and repressed his memories of the act, forgetting it entirely. It was then that he was summoned to Silent Hill (where he and Mary had gone on their honeymoon) by a letter in her handwriting. His story is essentially about regaining his memories and confronting his guilt/accepting responsibility for what he did, and hopefully being forgiven by Mary in the end.

Issues to Be Explored: Well, obviously HE IS A MURDERER (even if it was ultimately an act of insanity, it's still... y'know, murder), and as of his canonpoint he has not yet regained his memories of the act. He does know what he did on a deep, subconscious level, but his mind is not yet ready to face the enormity of what really happened, and instead he devotes himself feverishly to searching for her as he did in his canon, worried that she is in danger, wherever she is.
Unsurprisingly, James is pretty much a wreck-- even without the knowledge of his crime, he still struggles with the events of the three years that Mary was ill, during which he was essentially on the receiving end of an (emotionally) abusive relationship. Self-worth is pretty much an absolute zero-- he actively hates himself. He's also an alcoholic, and has suicidal tendencies which he is in denial about.
His mismatched and absent memories leave him in a semi-constant state of confusion-- he doesn't question them, but he's pretty much perpetually "HUH?"
His guilt over killing Mary also tends to generalize itself to the wellbeing of anyone else-- despite the fact that he went totally bugshit insane and killed someone, he's a gentle person at heart and has protective tendencies. He'll often blame himself for bad things that befall other people (or animals) even if there wasn't anything he could have realistically done about it.

Religious Affiliation: Not really. He's reasonably sure that God exists and that there's a Heaven and a Hell, but he doesn't think about it very much.

Plot: He spends a lot of time with the Hellhounds. They're pretty much his big slobbery undead family at this point. HE EVEN NAMED ALL OF THEM.
He also holds a bargaining chip presented to him by Little Miss (he won it in a game of Go Fish), but has no idea what to do with it or if he should even use it. He has been advised by one of the resident ghosts not to, in a classic case of "Be careful what you wish for, you may regret it."

Stipulations: Yes, although openly bringing up James's murder of his wife will pretty much shatter his mind-- he's not yet ready to realize that even if he subconsciously knows the truth. Gently prodding him in that direction is fine though, although there's a strong possibility it could go straight over his head. The denial is strong with this one.

Tagging: Absolutely!

Name: Laura Palmer | [personal profile] nowherefast
Race: Plain human - but in canon she's a Gifted human, meaning she has psychic tendencies and is often communicating with spirits and possesses some precognition.
World Information: Twin Peaks | Canon Information

Summarize: Twin Peaks is a town in Washington, just south of the Canadian border, and the timeframe is 1989. It's more or less exactly like Earth and the first few episodes will have you believe it, too. What makes the show special is the mythos that only a few characters are aware of.
As a metaphor for Heaven and Hell, we have the White Lodge and the Black Lodge, respectively. Although not given a name as such, each Lodge is inhabited by 'spirits' that some people (gifted and/or damned) can communicate with. Predictably, some of these spirits are bad and others are good, and we can assume that the bad ones come from the Black Lodge and the good ones from the White. The Black Lodge's theme is Fear, and the inhabitants there are seemingly out to spread as much fear, pain and suffering as they're able, since they feed on these emotions (they call it garmonbozia). The White Lodge is governed by Love, and the inhabitants there appear to be out to protect, shelter and warn people from the Black Lodge spirits, but also to help spread love and respect.
The White Lodge is spoken of in past tense while the Black is in present, indicating that the Black Lodge is gaining stronger ground than and/or infecting the White. It's unknown where the White Lodge is, but the gateway to the Black Lodge - or both? there's a lot of speculation in this canon I'm sorry - is in the woods right next to the town of Twin Peaks, where Laura lives.
Souls are canon and what the inhabitants of the Lodges aim to either corrupt or protect. Both type of Lodge beings are also fond of possessing people to help either cause or spread messages.
As far as a specific creation/god mythos goes, nothing in particular is given, although all the usual religions are still around and sometimes referenced, as well as some native legends.

In the show, the important event that kicks off all other stuff is actually Laura's death. I'm taking her from two days before she dies, but if Aslan would know that she does die, he's free to talk about it. Laura's convinced she'll die soon anyway.

Personal Information: Application!
In short, Laura's life has been shaped by a spirit from the Black Lodge, who has been trying to corrupt her presumably all her life, but especially since she was twelve and onwards. The spirit's name is BOB (or at least, that's what he says) and he's hurt and abused her in many ways, including sexually. He's managed to make her believe that she's a bad person and she's taken on a very destructive and violent lifestyle as a result and spreads her hurt to others.
She is, at heart, actually a very strong and good person and this shines through in a lot of ways she won't notice, since she has to justify the abuse that's happening to her somehow, and it's easier to assume she deserves it than to believe that she doesn't.
She took up drugs, alcohol abuse, prostitution and started being very cruel and manipulative to others in an attempt to gain back some control of her own life. She gave into the abuse as well, thinking that if she didn't fight it BOB would lose interest, and now also lives with shame and self hate for doing so and the things she does towards others. She shows a lot of caring and helpfulness at times though and can get fiercely protective about the few people she cares about. Again, she just won't notice.
Of note is that - spoiler to those who cares! - BOB is possessing Laura's father in order to carry out this abuse physically, something Laura is only vaguely guessing at (as she sees BOB's true face and not her dad's usually, percieving them as two different people), but it still manifests in a lot of issues around her father and family.

Issues to Be Explored: Oh god, um. All of the history things, probably? Laura desperately wants to believe she's a bad person, but in doing so she predictably hurts herself and becomes very self destructive and toxic towards others as well. In actuality she is a very good person and has a very strong, bright and unyielding soul - her strength in preventing BOB from possessing her is one of her defining traits - but accepting this is very difficult to her. She describes herself as leading two lives, and the good life is a lie. She pictures herself a heart broken in two pieces. Trying to reconcile what happened to her with who she actually is is probably the most acute problem she has, so touching on that would be the most important.

Religious Affiliation: She was raised a Christian and has all the ideas of God, Heaven and Hell and so on, but she finds it pointless to believe anymore and so she doesn't. She still holds onto the concept of angels though - she has a picture of an angel in her room and references them as a sort of unattainable ideal. She doesn't believe in things that are honestly GOOD anymore, but she still sort of clings to the image of angels.

Plot: WELL. For starters, Laura's the one who gave Danielle her name. She's also promised Danielle to stay in the house with her in order to restore Don to the living, during the days. She seems oddly tied to Don and has woken up to find tokens or letters for him every now and then, and she guards his sketchbook for him every night as he turns to a ghost. The sketchbook was given to her by the Phantasms after he died on night 012 and she underwent her experiment. As for others, she promised the Burning Man she'd look out for his daughter Rose for him, and while Rose mostly just kind of scared her, she still intends to do that. She's gotten a few gifts from the Burning Man and the first one, a little wooden bird, has become a charm of hope for her. And lastly, the saddled horse that sometimes appears first came to her in a dream and she's ridden him around the grounds a few times and usually spends time with him when he appears. She calls him Joey and feels very attached to him.

Stipulations: Laura would hate it if he revealed anything about her dark past to anyone and unless he's talking to the people INVOLVED or affected, she'd rather he didn't share anything about anything she does or says either. As for me, though, he can say whatever he likes to anyone so long as he'd have reason to!

WHOO LENGTH I'M SORRY

[personal profile] samguine 2013-05-10 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Name: Sammie Regan | [personal profile] samguine
Race: Human! (But possessed by a spirit, who is an energy being and not a dead person.)
World Information: OC - Based on a campaign in New World of Darkness

Summarize: It's basically Earth, except hidden urban fantasy. Most people think life is fine and ordinary, but others are or become aware of the creatures and things that mingle in our midst. Fun stuff like werewolves, vampires, shapeshifters, mages, weird horrible creatures, and so on.
Creation/god mythos left up to all the usual religions.

Personal Information: application!

The tl;dr is that Sammie had a very unremarkable life - worked odd jobs, had fun, was a bit of a party-goer and idler, large circle of friends and so on - until she became aware of the masquerade when she got caught up in a power struggle between two vampire lords. Following that, and escaping from one of the vampire lairs, more unnatural things became known to her and her new friends and basically they had to fight and see a whole bunch of bizarre things.
Oh, and along the way, she became an excellent knife and brawl fighter and also got possessed by a spirit who feeds on negative emotions. It sometimes has her kill things. She hates the thing. She also became phobic of insects, following a particularly jarring injury.
Her canon point is still mid-adventure.

Issues to Be Explored: The spirit thing is a big deal to Sammie, understandably; she's not a killer but has still had to murder a handful of people and act really scary towards others in order for the spirit to grow powerful and go all crazy-tentacle-shadows when it feels like it. What her major issue is there is that she has a hard time separating the spirit's whims from her own since she herself is extremely impulsive, and thus doesn't usually fight the spirit until it's more or less in control of her, making her doubt herself and her motivations and making it harder to face the blood on her hands. She also agreed to let the spirit possess her, to her great shame and terror - she thought she'd die if she didn't agree to it, but she beats herself up about this very regularly. On the whole though, she's fairly well-adjusted in proportion to what she's gone through lately, and understands when to not blame herself for what she's had to do.

Religious Affiliation: Not really, no!

Plot: She's still fairly new - was part of the nightmare plot, but other than that, nothing yet.

Stipulations: Sammie would prefer if he doesn't tell anyone she's possessed and the stuff she's done while under spirit influence, but other than that she doesn't mind, and neither do I!

Name: David Lowell | [personal profile] but_i_am_not_your_savior
Race: Used to be human. Got fused with a decent shard of a divine being; he's now basically an angelic with a human body.

World Information: OC | It used to be a version of Earth that would look pretty normal on the surface - supernatural activity blocked off/hidden/not common, etc.. This was the result of a truce between some of the other planes that led to the mortal realm being treated as a "neutral zone". A bit over four hundred years ago, a few things triggered what would've been the end of the truce; except it kind of went FUBAR because the heavens were divided, with both sides having had other things drive the major entities leading the larger part of the actively-involved heavens nuts, as well as something worse creeping in from outside. The Four Horsemen, agents of a set of neutral beings that dealt with the background machinery of the universe, basically "broke it up", severely wounding/banishing the higher beings that'd nearly destroyed most of the Earth and most of human civilization; in the process, some people involved in the fighting got fused with shards of the beings driven out. (David was the active, direct agent and channel for one of the two.)

It wasn't going to be a permanent solution, but it was enough for things to sort of rebuild and adapt; as of the timeline point David's from, things have gotten back to a sort of late-preindustrial stage with active magic a known thing. Unfortunately, some of the outside meddling is working to restart the fighting, and has started a pretty good-sized war in one area.

The "Creator god" is a sort of unknowable entity; it's basically benevolent but a sort of entity that's almost impossible to interact with directly. The things most people recognize as "gods" are various "children" of its; the Hell realms weren't so much something that existed "to punish sinners" for the most part as other, more chaotic realms of existence that were dangerous, although one went damaged in a way that warped it badly. The familiar "gods" are a few other divine beings that're skittering around trying to fix the damage and the two big ones that've been squabbling; the one David's tied to is a pure-order being - to the point that what twisted it has it attempting to basically crystallize reality and remove any free will.

Personal Information: App and other info post.

David started out as a fluffy idealistic college student, then the apocalypse happened; he used his own power/innate connection to some of the divine to try to stop his best friend who'd been possessed/taken over by one of the two dueling divine beings, only to get puppeteered himself by the other one. When it was banished, he got control back, but was fused with one of the shards of it that'd been left behind, changing him; he sealed the fuck out of himself to prevent it ever getting a foothold, and has basically been an immortal homeless vagrant for the centuries since. Said best friend is still partly controlled, and is turning what influence he does have into a sort of deathwish; Zane's given up on getting "free", and is mostly using wiggle room to provoke enough of a fight to get himself killed. David's terrified of the being that used him before getting control again, and takes these attacks by either running or letting himself get shredded.

Before he ended up in the house, he was getting drug along with a group that had been manipulated into going looking for "Zane's opposite number" by a demon that, while as friendly as a demon can get, knew damn well who and what David was, and is basically chessmastering to force David to get involved and stop running.

Issues to Be Explored: He accidentally the apocalypse, his best friend's been massacring people while being controlled by a mad god, he's been in that place himself and just drew a lucky straw to get his sense of self back when the one messing with him was shoved out, he knows it's waiting for him to do something again so it can take back over and pick up where it left off. He's terrified of his own powers, and is an idealist who's had four hundred years of "If I do anything, I will fuck everyone over/the best thing for me to do is sit on my hands and maybe do some minor odd jobs but nothing important".

Religious Affiliation: He's dimly aware that the actual creator probably doesn't want what's going on, but for the most part, his religious affiliation is "I've met the gods and they're ASSHOLES".

Plot: Just arrived, but I've been assured he'll be a hackey sack to SOMEONE.

Stipulations: Honestly? I half apped him here to mess with his ability to avoid things.

Name: Sephiroth Crescent | [personal profile] prideinthefall
Race: genetically (sorta) modified human as the short answer. The long answer includes some headcanon. I would say that Sephiroth will read predominately as human however not entirely due to the presence of the Jenova cells. I see them as a clump of cells located at the base of the brain with 'arms' that extend throughout the brain and down the spinal column. The cells themselves secrete protein and chemical compounds that increase/augment his physiology.

World Information: FFVII AU | AU information on his app Feel free to ask for any clarifications!

Summarize- Earth like with the Lifestream comprising the major creation force on the land. There are some other forms of religion, but most of them have fallen by the wayside.

His app covers the differences, but in summation this AU version of Sephiroth is an exploration of the character if Lucrecia had been the one to raise him. She was able to come into contact with him at age 3 and going forward. Sephiroth entered the house @ 18.

Issues to Be Explored: Seph, for all that he's fought in a war and is entirely too mature and intelligent for his age, is still a teenager and one that is fairly socially aloof. While he wasn't entirely raised by ShinRa and Hojo, he's spent enough time there for it to affect him. He's also an incredibly driven individual once he sinks his teeth into something and I have a feeling that will get him into a lot of trouble.

One thing that I'm pretty sure will come up with him is that of his canon self and the issues it will cause because this Seph knows all about Jenova and the chance that this alien could physically and mentally manipulate him. If he fears anything right now, that's the big one. (and why he's determined to destroy every trace of Jenova and the Project before he got yoinked into the house)

Religious Affiliation: Not at all. He's very scientifically minded thanks to his Mother. However he is very familiar with the Lifestream and the Ancients.

Plot: He just got there but ohhhh is he not happy with the tattoo at all.

Stipulations: I'm pretty much fine with Aslan mentioning anything either from 'his' reality or canon. He might not believe him or be very linefacey about it all.

Name: Mizuno Ami / Mercury | [personal profile] waterfell
Race: She was born to the immortal race of the Silver Millennium. She was reborn/reincarnated on Earth to human parents. He can know this.
World Information: PGSM Sailor Moon | Canon Information (Application)

The world was once destroyed during a war between Earth and the Moon. Evolution entirely started over from zero again at that point (we get a mention of tens of thousands of years, but that is probably poetic terms for the millions/billions this would take) until we come to something resembling modern times readers would be familiar with. This time, the same two factions started fighting again. The main canon twist is that the 'good' side is actually the one responsible for the destruction, since their moon princess destroyed the world in her panic when her lover died.

Personal Information: Here. (App)

She was born as the heiress to the Mercury Kingdom but sent to the Moon as a guardian soldier for its newborn princess when she was very small. Mercury grew up at the Moon Castle until a war between Earth and the Moon where both ended up destroyed, and she was reincarnated into modern Japan.

Ami was supposed to be a sailor senshi, a soldier fighting for love and justice with her friends. Unfortunately, she never did have the ability to trust said friends. The enemy used that to manipulate and brainwash her, and pump her full of dark energy from the demon they used as a power source, creating Dark Mercury. It only got worse from there as she found out her side was actually responsible for the destruction of the past - and there was a lot they were never told that now seems deliberately designed to keep them working for a force that did that to them, too.

Issues to Be Explored:
- loneliness/abandonment issues
- desperate want to be (and feel) valued and loved
- at the same time, fear of friendship; she does not trust people or their motives
- feeling she cannot be forgiven now that she has gone this far, even if she were to turn around

Religious Affiliation: not particularly; she would have participated in the usual Shinto rituals growing up in Japan, and even helped out at a local shrine occasionally, but that's about it. because of their vast lifespans, power, and amazing technology, the Silver Millennium (and thus her included) were often worshiped as goddesses.

Plot: She spends most of her time in the House exploring and investigating it, with the hope of still finding a way to get home. What he'd be able to catch that most people wouldn't are her better moments when she's been more encouraging to someone, or provided help.

Stipulations: OOCly, he can do as he'd see best. ICly, she is very wary and guarded of people who seem to know things about her and would doubly not appreciate it spreading beyond him and her. On the other hand, encounters with several psychics and even characters familiar with her canon have forced her to realize this is going to happen far, far more than she wishes.

Tagging: So very much yes, please.

Name: Eilonwy | [personal profile] unshodden
Race: She is human, from a noble house of enchantresses
World Information: The Chronicles of Prydain | Canon Information (App)

Eilonwy comes from the land of Prydain, heavily based on Celtic and Welsh myth. Magic exists (but will depart for the Summer Country by the end, which she has not reached yet).

Personal Information: Here. (App)

Eilonwy was kidnapped as a young child. The sorceress Achren posed as an aunt and raised her, hoping to gain access to Eilonwy's vast magical heritage through her. Unfortunately for her, Eilonwy never bought into the story and certainly never seemed very attached to Achren. She escaped at the first opportunity.

Issues to Be Explored: Eilonwy is not in as desperate need of counseling as some; she is remarkably well-adjusted for her early experiences.

Religious Affiliation: Is your character devout in some shape or form? Not particularly

Plot: Mostly exploring. Eilonwy's good at finding nooks and crannies and passages.

Stipulations: Go for it! She has a high intuition and her wisdom is described as 'knowing without knowing'; so she's always interested to meet others who seem to have similar aspects to them.

Tagging: Always very yes
