As he comes from a land where beasts speak with the tongues of Men, Aslan doesn't really need to wonder what many of them might think or say. Some of them, actually, have quite the gift of gab. There will always be a very distinct difference, however, between Talking Beasts and those who cannot, and all Narnians know it. To eat a Talking Beast is considered very like cannibalism, and so it is not done.
