Pod of Gray Holt, and Kiga ([personal profile] wolvering) wrote in [personal profile] aslandish 2015-01-28 05:39 am (UTC)

Name: Pod (and Kiga) | [personal profile] wolvering
Race: Pod is "truehuman" and Kiga is a wolverine!
World Information: The Dragonlord Series | ...ahaha ha ha... This canon is really obscure and does not have a wiki or anything. So I'll just link to Pod's Info page. I wrote up as much of the general world info as I could near the bottom

Summarize- Earth-like, with cultural analogues, but very different geology. Medieval technology, with magic everywhere
Sentient species: humans, dragons (think western), waterdragons (more eastern), and Kir (no real physical description except furry and "short-muzzled faces")
Important special cases: Dragonlords (have the soul of a dragon and a human bound together (and then splits into two Dragonlords with half of each). essentially weredragons, and the reason dragons and humans proper have "true" put in front), and The Phoenix (singular magical creature that dies and rebirths itself, and wasn't sentient, until the most recent cycle where it died with a dragon; it may have part of a dragon's soul now but nobody really knows)
Religion: polytheistic, and pantheon led by a mother-earth type only called in canon "The Goddess" and I headcanon that all the gods and goddesses are definitely real, if not directly involved in human affairs for the most part. Certain groups are literally "favored of the gods."

Personal Information: Her info post again. and her permissions have a more concise description of her powers. Most would be moot in relation to Aslan himself, but the supernatural rapport with animals might be of interest

Pod's life started out with really horrible abuse, but she was rescued from that by a Beast Healer and a Dragonlord, and is now well on the way to becoming a Beast Healer herself. Her brother-in-fur is the wolverine Kiga, and they have a pure bond that shines like a light to magical senses. Very recently, Pod was led by a figure of authority over her into a very, very bad place, haunted by a murderous dark spirit and cursed with tons of old blood-magic. The authority figure paid for his reckless endangerment of kids with his life, and Pod risked hers twice to try to save him, and then succumbed to stress and a little bit of pride and gave Kiga an order enforced by magic which separated them temporarily.

This led to her and another girl getting chased around a cursed wood that was as much out to kill them as the actual human madman with the knife who was determined to slaughter them and drink their blood. They were both saved by a Dragonlord, who'd been led to them by the bond between Pod and Kiga, and following Kiga back to her when his magic amplified hers enough for her to mentally call Kiga home. The girls were saved, and the Dragonlord got some very important evidence to save another innocent life, that he would have been very unlikely to find if not for being led, so calling divine intervention with the whole thing.

Issues to Be Explored: She's mostly over the abuse she suffered as a kid, but there are still a few scars, and some small insecurity over being a bastard. Mostly though, it manifests in a need to prove herself and make the people she cares for "proud of her", which isn't a bad thing, necessarily, but she'd benefit from having someone who cares for her just as she is (and that she'll... believe when they say that). She's also still struggling with essentially mild survivor's guilt over not being able to save her teacher's life, even though she knows she couldn't have done anything. All of them are fairly mild, as issues go, but!

Religious Affiliation: Very! She acknowledges and believes in the other gods, but Beast Healers serve and swear fealty to just one. That god is The Great Stag, Kerras of the Golden Antlers, and the god of all beasts wild and tame (and also of healing said beasts). As a Beast Healer, she's one of those "favored of the gods" and her magic is a blessing from Kerras. I headcanon that Beast Healers are his priesthood in everything but name. Here, in Drabwurld, Pod has kind of adopted the White Hart as a surrogate deity, and now prays to both him and Kerras.

Plot: Pod is (or will be when her quest is declared complete) now a "friend of the animals" and just got a boon that will allow her to learn to speak with beasts and birds. She will be pursuing both of these things and mostly staying out of the war (except, perhaps, stepping in to help with the destruction that's coming in Feb from the Jabberwock)

Stipulations: Pod might ICly get tense and twitchy if certain things are brought up (her being a bastard, as an example) but, she would assume Aslan has a reason for it.

Tagging: Certainly!
