It could be said that Cloud's world, Gaia, is pretty much like our Earth. However it's not only a planet orbiting in the space, it's a living organism, conscious of itself and of what happens on its surface, and if it could speak, it would. Actually, the old race of the Cetras could talk.
That aside, the life upon the surface is rather modern. Magic and technology have been mixed to make life easier for humans. Yet, the price to waste the Planet's spirit energy was high, and their inhabitants are returning slowly to fossil fuels.
It's rather normal to find "monsters" in almost any area, mainly in lonely roads, but also outside towns and cities. It's a dangerous place to live and it's usual to see people dealing and selling weapons and material for their protection.
Some of the "summons" have become deities for some countries like Leviatan for Wutai, it probably works the same way for other areas in the world.

Issues to Be Explored: Cloud always manages to feel inferior. He doesn't trust himself much. He had solved it in the past months back home, however those fears have surfaced again with Tifa's death in the Port. Religious Affiliation: There might be different religions in Gaia as well (since there are church and temples and stuff), but there isn't a specific god he's devoted to. He does believe, however, in spiritual forces. Plot: Seeking to avenge Tifa. Not really caring who goes down in the process. Stipulations: Aslan can do anything he want with any of the information.
